The Murphy Family wants to express their gratitude and thanks to all of you for the overwhelming outpour of love, thoughts and prayers that Don’s County Family has given them during these very tough times.
Don’s wife Heather, and daughters Madison and Chandler are shocked and saddened by their loss and are coping as well as they can, however they are doing OK thanks to the amazing amount of love from all of you that had the pleasure to have known Don and called him a friend. He touched the life of many, and it shows.

They want you all to know that Don’s faith has kept everyone of them strong and although his sudden and premature departure saddens all of us, they know that Don is in heaven doing what he has always done; help make things better for everyone. There is no doubt that Don has been a model human being to all of us, and that his legacy of caring and giving will be with us forever.

The family also wants you to know that given the sudden nature of the accident and Don’s injury, he did not suffer any pain and his doctors have confirmed that fact. When all of this happened, he was doing one of those things that he loved doing, living life to the fullest.

It is important for everyone to also understand that, just like Don would have done, the young lady charged with this terrible accident has been forgiven by the family. The family believes that there was no malice on her part and would like for all of you to also pray for her, so that we could find peace within her and God for what happened.

Yesterday, Don was declared clinically dead, as the brain did not register any activity. His spirit is now in heaven, and his strong and healthy body is being artificially preserved while his organs are donated to continue his mission and legacy of helping others. As in life, Don will be the reason for others to continue smiling. Don will live on within those so lucky to receive any of his organs. His mission of caring and helping others will go on.

The family is planning a memorial service sometime next week (tentatively next Friday 12/18/09) so that we all can get together and celebrate the life of a great man and an unbelievable human being. Don will be missed, but his legacy of love and caring will live forever.
